Bridge Housing Communities in San Jose

Despite being in the heart of the wealth of Silicon Valley, San Jose has one of the country’s highest homeless populations. More than 4,000 residents are unhoused and striving to break a cycle of poverty. In collaboration with the City of San Jose and HomeFirst, Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is launching an innovative pilot initiative to provide a pathway out of homelessness and back to stability and self-sufficiency. Over the course of 5 years, Habitat is building communities of “Emergency Sleeping Cabins” with shared facilities that will provide a safe, dignified place to call home for an estimated 800 residents currently experiencing homelessness. While living in the community, residents will receive critical services through HomeFirst, tailored to each resident’s unique needs.

Sereno Group shares Habitat’s vision of a world in which everyone has a decent place to live.
