Every summer Sunnyvale Community Services gives away over 1,000 backpacks to lowincome Sunnyvale children headed to school. Brand new backpacks are stuffed with school supplies so that every child can get the school year off to a good start.

Founded in 1970, Sunnyvale Community Services is an independent, nonprofit emergency assistance agency. Their mission is to prevent homelessness and hunger for low-income families and seniors facing temporary crises. They provide financial aid, food, and other support that prevents larger problems with more expensive solutions.

They depend on generous donations by local businesses and individuals, as well as volunteer help. They leverage contributions with volunteer hours that enable them to provide more services with fewer paid staff members. We are proud to support this wonderful organization that directly assists so many families in our community.
